Per Sant Jordi, un ram de queixes



No és que Baltasar Porcel sigui un personatge que em caigui gaire simpàtic, però sí que coincideixo amb les seves crítiques habituals de cada Sant Jordi contra la mercantilització que suposa aquesta festa en el camp de la literatura. Literatura o, més aviat, llibres?

Perquè si és cert que existeixen tot tipus de públics i tothom té dret a publicar la seva obreta i que el món editorial no sobreviuria sense els best sellers (i bla, bla, bla...), també és cert que un creador (amb majúscules), aquella persona que escriu com a vocació per aconseguir una obra meditada, pensada, que aconsegueixi uns propòsits de solidesa i sentit de conjunt, quan veu la cua del mediàtic de torn ha de sentir-se terriblement abatuda.

N'hi ha qui en diu enveja... com si no fos un sentiment humà que tots poguéssim sentir. Però també hi ha la frustració de veure que la carta de tota una vida jugada a l'art no té el mateix mèrit als ulls de la societat que el futbolista, el presentador o l'humorista, que (recolat per guionistes i publicistes) veu el llibre com un complement a la seva carrera, no pas com l'única raó d'aquesta.
